The concept imagines a tranquil coastal escape designed to promote rest, reflection, and connection to nature. Intended as a retreat for those working in the heart of Dar es Salaam, it offers a restorative counterbalance to the city’s intensity—just a short journey across the bay. Rooted in slow living principles and local materiality, the development was envisioned to include spa facilities, curated guest experiences, and a gentle architectural footprint. With direct beach access and a calm, secluded atmosphere, Sanctuary by the Sea was conceived as a place to pause and restore.
